We're happy to report that we've received some great support on our campaign thus far. We raised 25% with 26 days to go.

We'd like to ask you to share the campaign with friends, family and small business owners in your community.

Thank you for your support!

We believe that one of the greatest benefits of crowdfunding is the process of building up the perk structure. You can get very creative and offer your supporters something useful in return for their contribution to your campaign.

We are currently one week into our crowdfunding campaign and it's been so fun to see which of our perks are the most popular.

We invite you to take a look at our campaign and if you like it, go ahead and pick up a perk for yourself.

As always, thanks for your support!

We had and now have the opportunity to launch a crowdfunding campaign in partnership with many great companies thanks to the Phillips Innovation Fellows Competition. Phillips is looking for campaigns that meet a number of criteria focused on living well, being healthy and enjoying life.

It's competitions like these that bring out the best in us. Crowdfunding is not easy, but many thanks to Phillips for encouraging the team at Recovery Pledge to give it another try.

We are going to offer some new and exciting perks during our Indiegogo campaign.  One of perks includes "Get Social".  By purchasing this perk, you will receive a digital version of our Social Media Toolkit, which includes 45+ pages of detailed tips and tricks on how to get the most out of social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Quora and more).

Below is a little teaser of our Social Media Toolkit.

We're looking forward to our launch on Saturday!

As we prepare to launch a new Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign this Saturday, August 30th, we can't help but reminisce about our first campaign.

In today's post, we'd like to take a moment to highlight some of the memorable events from last year.

We spent a great deal of time planning and developing our company's profile.
We held three events at the Pasadena Public Library on "How to create and maintain an e-commerce website".
We participated in a number of pitch competitions. One of them included the Falling Walls Competition hosted by the University of California Los Angeles. The second fast-pitch competition hosted by TechSparks, which we were honored to win first place.
Earlier this year, Christopher represented Recovery Pledge on the crowdfunding panel during the Innovate Pasadena event.
Lastly, but equally important, we had a chance to connect with some great folks in the Los Angeles area, and introduce our idea to small business owners and conscious consumers across the country.

We look forward to making more memories this year, and we hope to connect with you as well.

Thank you for taking a look down memory lane,
Christopher & Marta

Hello Friends,

We are very excited to announce that in five days we will launch our 2014 crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.

We are going to offer some great new perks based on the valuable feedback we received from last year's campaign.

The campaign goes live on Saturday, August 30th and will run for 31 days.

We greatly appreciate your support.

With warm regards,
Christopher & Marta

Earlier this year we held a number of interviews with small business owners in the Gulf. These conversations helped us rebuild our customer acquisition strategy to better communicate our value proposition.

C. Girdwood also spoke at a crowdfunding event organized by Innovate Pasadena. Below are a few pictures of the panel.

We are preparing to launch another crowdfunding campaign this summer. Please reach out to us if you are interested in becoming a part of the team. Thank you for your consideration and continued support.

My Good Friends,

Thank you so much for contributing to the Recovery Pledge crowd-funding campaign. Together, we raised just under $10,000. Even though we did not raise the target amount, we validated the idea of consumer-driven disaster recovery.

Marta and I learned a great deal from this undertaking. Most of all, we connected with you. We will continue to work very hard on your behalf to build the Recovery Pledge marketplace.

Please contact us anytime.

Chris and Marta Girdwood

Here is our transcribed 30 second pitch that we delivered at the TechSparks event in Pasadena:

"I was working in New Orleans after the oil spill in 2010 where I witnessed the sharp decline in sales that small businesses face after the disaster.

We designed Recovery Pledge to solve this problem by connecting you, a consumer, with small businesses in need. For example, instead of buying that kitchen table from a big box retailer - we want you to buy it from a small business in New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina. By stabilizing small businesses - we’ve stabilized the economic engines of cities.

Thank you."
